Destination-driven extraction means the Target Payroll System’s template determines what data is pulled from the HR System of Record, in what shape, in what order. Most integration platforms generate output files from whatever data is in front of them. Real HR-to-payroll integration reverses the flow: the receiver’s required fields, derivation rules, ordering constraints, and physical limits all dictate the extraction logic.
