Our track record in designing, scaling and operating some of the world’s most successful data platforms gave us a clear insight into the urgent need for a solution that can handle payroll, HR and compliance data on a global scale, customized for the requirements of payroll operators.

Our story

As co-founders and leaders, we have all worked together prior to the inception of datascalehr. We have personally been in the trenches of global HR, global payroll, implementations, data management, integration, service center operations, GDPR compliance, and more. Your pains and challenges deeply resonate with us.

In addition to our expertise in large-scale global payroll, we have also spent significant time in the startup world, building and scaling products from the ground up – including the world’s largest multi-country HR-Payroll platform.

Through our individual paths, we participated in the birth and coming-of-age of the HRO industry and recognized early the dire need for efficient, systematic ways to handle customer implementations and daily service center operations.

Why now?

Despite the remarkable advancements in AI, database technology, and low-code platforms, only a small number of these disruptive innovations have been embraced by the payroll outsourcing industry.

In line with the well-known saying, “Insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different outcomes,” the HR data architecture has remained unchanged for five decades, and its limitations are becoming increasingly apparent.

Reinvented

Meanwhile, we have always sensed an inherent flaw in attempting to fit extraordinarily intricate people data into predetermined data frameworks, regardless of how meticulously they were designed.

This prompted us to explore a new philosophy of managing people data, and experiment with technology that led us to a revolutionary data architecture.

Our Machine Learning and AI-first approach provides a performance leap that will continue to grow exponentially.

Jerome Gouvernel
Co-Founder & CEO

Jerome was the designer and head of development for the world’s first and most successful multi-country payroll platform, ADP GlobalView.

He has since overseen the development of multiple other people data management platforms of various size. A veteran of IBM, SAP and ADP, he has been a serial intra & entrepreneur in his various executive roles, including strategic product leadership for ADP’s Innovation labs. He is also an inventor with multiple US patents to his name in the field of HR and Talent management.

Executive leadership roles include GM, VP Product Strategy, CTO, CPO.

Nicolas Delord
Co-Founder & CTO

Nicolas (aka Nico) is an industry veteran who cut his teeth developing some of Europe’s largest and most successful payroll and HR platforms. He is one of these rare engineers whose passion for solving user problems makes him a natural product designer. He combines the rigor of a full-stack java engineer with the creativity afforded by low-code design. Among his many successes, he architected the world’s largest HR mobile infrastructure: ADP’s international API & Mobile platform. He was also the CTO and Chief developer of ADP’s “HR Product of the year 2017”, Compass®.

Emmanuel (aka Manu) has been a global SaaS & HR outsourcing growth leader for decades. Amongst his many roles, he was head of strategic account management at ADP during the initial phase of multinational account expansion working on the largest accounts in the portfolio. His passion for win-win outcomes and client success inspires all who have the pleasure to work with him. Manu has been a serial angel investor and strategic advisor in the European startup ecosystem including the most successful ones such as 360Learning.

Luke Zawadzki
Head of Engineering

Luke was the Chief Architect and Chief Developer for Australia’s largest contractor management platform, AstutePayroll (acquired by Deel in 2022). His passion for clean code, industrial-strength processes and quality is the backbone of datascalehr and is only matched by his curiosity and ability to prototype new ideas and technologies in his “spare” time.

Brad Collins
Strategic Advisor

Brad Collins is an active angel investor and advisor to HR Tech, Work Tech and Future of Work startups globally. Brad was most recently the Chief Strategy Officer of Velocity Global, a global employment and payroll provider, where he was responsible for aligning all areas of the organization with the achievement of strategic objectives. During his time with Velocity Global, Brad led teams across strategy, technology, BI/analytics, strategic finance and M&A as the company scaled 20x in revenue. Before joining Velocity Global, Brad worked in investment banking and M&A advisory, and has executed $2B of M&A and capital raise transactions during his career.

Brad has an MBA and bachelor’s degree from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

Len is a global payroll expert with a one-of-a-kind career journey. Her expertise stems from hands-on payroll operations and leadership across 15+ countries, to Global Payroll Implementation and Global Product Management. There probably isn’t a payroll scenario she hasn’t personally dealt with at some point!

Len’s professional background is marked by her tenure with industry leaders such as Deel, PayAsia, PayGroup, and Microsoft.
